On the Rippey Library Shelf

Start a new adventure with a project on the cold, snowy and sometimes icy days. The Rippey library has just the books for you in the craft section for adults and young folks.

One book to consider is “Paper to Petal: 75 Whimsical Flowers to Craft by Hand” by Rebecca Thuss and Patrick Farrell with a foreword by Martha Stewart. Another possibility in the juvenile section is “Making Origami Animals Step by Step.”

Come to the library and find just the books for you. ~by Nancy Hanaman

Rippey Cook-off Winners

On Saturday, Jan. 21, the Chili Cook-off at the Rippey public library was a success. About 50 attendees enjoyed the chili and visiting. Their donations will help purchase books and prizes for the summer reading program.

There was a great sampling of soups with seven to choose from. Lyle Rychnovsky, left, won first place and Elizabeth Blakeman took second. Each received an assortment of kitchen items to use to make their next soup.
